The Blues finished a special campaign in style thanks to a 4-0 FA Cup final triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion at Wembley Stadium.
And that victory now marks the 2025/26 season as the most successful in our professional era, having also secured the WSL title earlier in May.
City won a double for the first time in 2016, winning the WSL and League Cup before holding all three domestic trophies with a maiden FA Cup victory in May 2017.
We also signed off for the 2018/19 campaign with triumphs in both domestic Cups, but never before had we held both the WSL and FA Cup in the same season.
It’s a remarkable accomplishment, one which only two other sides have achieved in WSL history and has also been secured in Head Coach Andrée Jeglertz’s first season at the helm.
City claimed the WSL crown with a game to spare, having been top of the league for almost six months after an early November win over Everton.
We equalled our best-ever points tally in the process, finishing four points clear of second-placed Arsenal and six ahead of reigning champions Chelsea, who we beat 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium in February 2026.
City finished with the league’s best attacking return, finding the net 62 times in 22 matches, while also maintaining a 100% home record.
We’ve shown similar grit in the FA Cup, beating Bournemouth, Sheffield United and Birmingham City to set up a semi-final tie with the holders, Chelsea.
It looked like our double dreams were over with less than five minutes of normal time to play at Stamford Bridge and City 2-0 down, but late goals from Mary Fowler and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw forced extra time.
And Shaw pounced once more in the 103rd minute to complete a dramatic turnaround and set up our tie with Brighton at Wembley.
Our success over the Seagulls then set the seal on a campaign which will go down in history as our most successful to date.
A huge congratulations to Andrée Jeglertz, his staff and the entire playing squad on securing the Double!
