Manchester City have been drawn against Real Madrid in Round Two of the 2021/22 UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Today’s draw pitted Gareth Taylor’s against the Spanish side in a two-legged encounter.

City will be away in the first leg with the decider to be played at the Academy Stadium.

It’s the sixth successive season City have played in the tournament which this season introduces a new group stage format.

For the first time in its history, the Women’s Champions League will feature a 16-team group stage, which replaces the knockout Round of 16. The top two in each of the four groups will progress to the quarter-finals.

Holders Barcelona along with Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are already confirmed for the group stage.

They will be joined by 12 teams who will take part in the home and away Round Two ties from the respective champions and league paths, which will ensure at least 10 nations feature in the group stage.

The Round Two ties will take place on Aug 31/Sep 1 and Sep 8/9 with precise dates to be confirmed in due course.
