The winners of Manchester City’s Women’s Player of the Season, Rising Star and Goal of the Season awards have each been announced.

City’s annual awards ceremony took place following our 3-2 victory against Everton in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

The fixture brought down the curtain on the 2022/23 campaign, with Gareth Taylor’s side finishing fourth in the table.

After falling to defeat in our first two WSL matches, City would embark on a phenomenal 16-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Memorable performances and victories over Chelsea and Arsenal at the Academy Stadium would follow, but we would ultimately fall short in the final weeks of the season.

But at the climax of another exciting campaign, our players’ outstanding efforts have been recognised in our end of season awards.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has scooped the Player of the Season prize, having come out on top in our fan vote.

The Jamaican grabbed 31 goals in all competitions, surpassing the record for the most goals by a Women’s player across a single season.

She also claimed the WSL Player of the Month awards in November and March.

Shaw was also the recipient of our Goal of the Season prize courtesy of her strike against Arsenal in April 2023.

The forward met Chloe Kelly’s cross with a clinical diving header, sending the ball looping into the far corner past the despairing dive of Sabrina D’Angelo inside five minutes.

It was a typically clinical finish from the Jamaican, rounding off an incredible team move in the process.

Finally, young goalkeeper Khiara Keating claimed the Club’s Rising Star award for 2022/23.

The stopper enjoyed a successful loan spell at Coventry United, before being recalled after Sandy MacIver was ruled out until the end of the season.

Making her first senior appearance of the campaign in a 6-2 win over West Ham United, the 18-year-old produced a stunning reaction save from Lisa Evans in the first half.

She once again stepped up to the plate in the Manchester derby, coming on as a substitute on the stroke of half-time.

And while we would ultimately fall to defeat in stoppage time, the teenager put in another assured performance between the sticks.

Congratulations to all of our winners and thank you to everyone who voted.
