Leila Ouahabi says City feels like home after she totalled her 100th appearance for the Club in our 6-0 win over Leicester.

A second-half substitute at the Joie Stadium, the versatile defender racked up a century of outings when replacing Alex Greenwood just before the hour mark.

It saw the Spain international become the 22nd player reach the milestone since our professional relaunch in 2014 and means she’s now only three behind City legend Karen Bardsley.

And Ouahabi, a summer 2022 signing from Barcelona, says she’s honoured to tally 100 during her fourth season in Manchester.

“It’s really a privilege for me because I’m really happy,” she declared. This is my fourth season here and it feels like home.

“I tried to enjoy it as much as possible and with this team it’s easy [to]. I’m really happy to be part of this group.”

The emphatic win over Leicester saw City return to winning ways and extend our lead at the Barclays Women’s Super League summit to 11 points – albeit having played a game more than second-place Manchester United.

Andrée Jeglertz’s side produced 31 shots against the Foxes in a ruthless display of attacking intent which didn’t waiver even when the Swede shuffled his pack after the interval.

And Ouahabi believes the Blues’ high standards remain due to the mentality that flows through the entire squad.

She added: “I think everyone has the level to bring the team energy. The subs are always important to bring more energy during the second half.

“That’s the way and our attitude and I’m very happy for those reasons and it was a very important three points for us. For trying to win the league this year, but I’m very happy.”
