GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW
Kennedy and Mace are yet to feature this season after sustaining shoulder and thigh injuries on international duty in the summer, but the boss says they are both progressing well in their respective recoveries.
Taylor revealed that Kennedy would link up with her Australia team-mates in the upcoming international break, but wouldn’t be available for selection.

It was a similar story when asked about Mace’s condition, with the boss hoping the youngster will be back in the fold after another period of training during the upcoming break.
With regards to Losada, the boss admitted that this weekend’s clash would come too soon for her to return to the fold.
The Spanish midfielder was left out of the City squad ahead of our 2-1 triumph over Liverpool last week due to a knee injury, with Taylor unsure on its severity thus far.

After losing our first two games of the WSL season to Aston Villa and Chelsea respectively, City have bounced back in impressive fashion.
Victories against Leicester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have seen Gareth Taylor’s side rise to fourth in the table.
We also got off to the best possible start in our defence of the Continental Cup with a 6-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
Meanwhile, Reading sit ninth in the WSL table, but did manage to pick up their first win of the season against Leicester City in their most recent outing.
PREVIOUS MEETING
The two sides last met on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign, with City running out 4-0 winners.
Gareth Taylor’s side secured the final WSL Champions League place in impressive fashion thanks to goals from Lauren Hemp, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Ellen White and Alex Greenwood.
LAST TIME OUT
We picked up another three points in the WSL as we edged out Liverpool 2-1 at the Academy Stadium.
Shaw netted her eighth goal in all competitions this season to hand us the lead, but Katherine Stengel’s strike saw the two sides go in all square at the break.
However, Hayley Raso came off the bench and within six minutes of her introduction netted the winner, firing past Rachael Laws with just over 15 minutes of the game remaining.
Reading on the other hand picked up their first three points of the season as Rachel Rowe scored two goals in second-half stoppage time, earning the Royals a 2-1 win over Leicester City.

- Manchester City have never lost away from home against Reading in the Women’s Super League (W6 D1). Only Arsenal against Liverpool (10) and Bristol City (9) have played more away games against an opponent without losing in the WSL.
- City have won 17 of our last 19 away WSL matches when scoring the first goal (D2) since losing 2-1 to Chelsea back in December 2019.
