Manchester City will play Aston Villa at Villa Park in our final Barclays Women’s Super League assignment of the season.

The match is currently scheduled for Saturday 18 May with kick-off scheduled for 14:00 (UK), but the fixture is subject to change.

Bescot Stadium, the home ground of Walsall’s men’s first team, is the usual home of the Villans but they have used Villa Park on a number of occasions in the past – including our first match of the 2022/23 season.

Carla Ward’s side took a two-goal advantage after Alisha Lehmann and Rachel Daly gave the home a two-goal lead.

On the brink of half-time, Laura Coombs halved the deficit before second half goals from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Coombs gave City the lead for the first time in the match.

Kenza Dali equalised for Villa in the 58th minute before Daly’s goal 18 minutes later secured all three points for Villa in a 4-3 thriller.

Gareth Taylor’s side’s last meeting with Villa came in December when a quickfire double from Lauren Hemp saw City come from behind to win 2-1 at the Joie Stadium.

And with City looking to secure the Club’s second WSL title, three points at Villa park could prove vital in the title race and fight for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
