Pep Guardiola admits trying to select from his strong Manchester City squad is proving an unenviable task.
Whenever the City manager has made changes to his match-day starting eleven throughout the season to date, such is the competition for places, he inevitably ends up having to disappoint some players.
Ahead of Monday’s resumption of Premier League action away to Tottenham, Guardiola is again pondering on his best eleven.
And as he looked ahead to the trip to Wembley in his weekly press conference, Pep admitted trying to keep all of his players happy all of the time was an impossible task.

“All the players want to play good, play well and be part of the team,” Guardiola said. “We have a squad with huge quality and when they play they play good because if it doesn’t happen another one can play.
“First of all they are professionals. When they aren’t selected they are not happy but when they come back to training session, they have to be happy,.
“Only way to convince me. If they make bad faces and show how disappointed, they have a big problem because they are not going to play.
“I understand completely. They can convince me when they are who they are, amazing professionals.”
