Karen Bardsley has praised Manchester City for following through on a pledge to raise the bar in women’s football.
The City stalwart was speaking as she confirmed a new two-year deal at the Club she has called home since 2014.
Expressing her delight, Bardsley said City have delivered on the promises made to her five years ago and developed not only the women’s game, but also her as individual both on and off the pitch.
“The thing I really like about this Club is that they stick to their word,” she explained.
“When they say they’ll do things, they do it and they look to evolve in continuing to challenge perceptions and raise the bar in women’s football.
“That’s something close to my heart and I’m really happy and fortunate to be part of it.”
The ‘keeper also acknowledged the impact of Nick Cushing and his coaching staff, who she said have allowed her to improve and learn each season due to continually striving for excellence.
