Jill Scott is desperate to win her first Manchester derby.

The City midfielder has won every trophy on offer in England and is approaching 150 appearances for the Lionesses, but has yet to experience a cross-city clash in her six years at the Club.

That all changes at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon and, with Manchester United’s women’s team making their FA WSL debut, Scott is thrilled to have the opportunity to face them.

“It’s fantastic,” she said.

“Casey Stoney is doing a good job at United and people always ask if we’re glad they have a team and of course we are because now we’ve got that derby.

“We want to promote the game as much as they do but come that game, I know you’ll see two teams who desperately want to win.

“I’m a Sunderland-born girl and I always remember those derby games against Newcastle and how much they meant to the fans.

“Those are the games you really live for and they are very intense, so I’m very excited to hopefully play in one and when it comes we’ll be ready.”

WITNESS HISTORY | Tickets for the derby are available to buy online and the Etihad Stadium ticket office will remain open until shortly before kick-off on Saturday.
