Asked if the Club might have difficulty attracting top names when he eventually leaves City, the Catalan said that top players have been coming to City for many years and will continue to do so after he has moved on.
Though many players have stated their desire to play under him, when asked if he was the reason many of the current squad had signed, Pep said: “No, I don’t think so. I don’t think it’s the only reason.
“We asked other players (in recent seasons) and they didn’t come.

“Not every player we wanted is standing with us today.
“The club is big enough and good enough. It’s not the only reason that I am here.
“The club was good before I came here. City won titles with Manuel Pellegrini and Roberto Mancini and played good football.
“The players we already have can help us. The club has to convince players in the future.”
