Manchester City's charity, City in the Community (CITC), hosted an exclusive showcase event at the Joie Stadium for the first time

The event was organised to demonstrate to stakeholders the important work that CITC is doing to empower live through football, as well help to create advocates across Greater Manchester for the charity.

Key partners and funders, as well as councillors and business leaders, were invited to the City Football Academy, where they were able to explore stations to find out more about CITC departments, programmes, and participants.

Guests at the event received a presentation by members of City in the Community’s leadership and management staff before being taken on a tour around the Joie Stadium pitch and indoor facilities to experience several practical and classroom sessions in action.

For the first time, the showcase also included interactive stands from the charity’s Partnerships, Fundraising, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning, and Communications departments, showcasing the teams behind-the-scenes.

A local school also joined the event to share their experience of benefitting from City in the Community’s new Healthy Goals campaign, which aims to uplift the physical and mental health of young people by creating safe spaces to play.

Commenting on the success of the event, CEO of City in the Community, Michael Geary, said:

“It has been fantastic to engage so many important stakeholders in the amazing breadth of work being done at City in the Community.

“It is extremely important to engage our local business community in the initiatives their support contributes to, and I hope that everyone in attendance got a great feeling from what they saw on the Joie Stadium pitch and beyond.

“I was also extremely proud to see our advanced brand and marketing strategy come to life in various ways - from pitch LEDs, to branded merchandise and presentation visuals.

“The reactions to the quality of our staff and participants, as well as the work we do as a collective, has been brilliant to see and it all points towards a very exciting future.”
