Former City players Joleon Lescott and Shaun Goater have heaped plenty of praise on striker Sergio Aguero, following the news the Argentine ace will leave the Club at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old has been a key figure for the Club over the past decade, providing incredible moments in domestic and European competitions that City fans will never forget.

Both Lescott, who had the honour of playing both with and against Aguero during his career, and Goater had only positive things to share about the forward during Saturday’s We’re Not Really Here matchday show for the Premier League encounter against Leicester City.

“He just enjoys it. I’ve never met someone who enjoys what they do as much as he does,” Lescott said. “He grew into the culture. Whoever they get in won’t be able to recreate what he has done for the Club.

“He just came and said: ‘I’ll play my part’ and just went about his business. We knew to just do our job at the back because he would do his job upfront.”

Goater agreed: “You never hear anything negative about him. He just keeps himself quiet and just says he’s available. This is what I respect.

“He’s just the top professional. He’s so ice-cold in front of goal.

“That boy is a beast when it comes to goals in a game. When he gets around the box, he will hurt you.

“I needed a few days to pick myself up after the news. I had to have my period of thinking that we will no longer have him next season.

“Sergio, you’re the guy!”
