Pep Guardiola has revealed how the constraints placed on both our squad and coaching staff due to the COVID-19 pandemic have altered City’s working routine and led to fewer team meetings.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby, the boss gave an insight into how City’s traditional routines had been affected by the restrictions affecting all of society – and how the squad’s maximum energy was focused on matches.

“You adjust to the protocols, adjust what you do and try to live well. With this situation the way it is around the world, I cannot demand 10 hours,” Guardiola asserted.

“We have less meetings. Maybe this is why we are winning - because I don’t bother them much!

“The players are like you and me - the world we are living is weird, we can’t go out. So you need energy the moment of the game. We did it and we will continue this way.”
