Ruben Dias says being included in Manchester City's five-player senior leadership group is a 'special moment'.

The defender was once again voted by his team-mates into our quintet of senior leaders, joining Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva, Rodrigo and Kevin De Bruyne.

Embarking on his fourth season at the Etihad Stadium, Dias insists he’s always aimed to shoulder the pressure of a senior player since joining the Club in September 2020.

And the significance of the role certainly hasn’t been lost on him over the years, both in terms of the honour and responsibility it brings.

Speaking to the media ahead of our Champions League clash with RB Leipzig, he said: “Obviously it’s a special moment for whoever is selected [in the senior leadership group].

“It’s a moment of trust from your colleagues and everyone who votes, the staff as well.

“It’s an honour to be one of the captains of our team and obviously as much as it’s a big honour, it’s the responsibility.

“From when you’ve taken every day with that same responsibility, being the captain or not, everything gets easier.

“I’ve always tried to conduct myself that way because it’s how I believe a player should be.”
