Manchester City ended the Big City Weekender with a 100% record after the men and women’s first teams and Under-18s all sealed convincing victories.

With two Manchester derbies and a cup final, it was a weekend of the utmost significance for the Club and our three sides made it one to remember with a series of thrilling wins.

The Under-18s got us off to a dream start with a stunning 5-1 eclipse of Manchester United.

Carlos Borges scored a hat-trick as we secured a seventh consecutive league win to maintain our five-point advantage over Liverpool at the top of the Under-18 Premier League table.

Our women’s first team made it a super Saturday as we came from behind to beat Chelsea in the Continental Cup final in front of a sell-out crowd at Plough Lane.

Sam Kerr gave Chelsea a first half lead, but Gareth Taylor’s side came roaring back after the break to claim the trophy for a fourth time thanks to Caroline Weir’s brace and Ellen White’s 30th City goal.

Pep Guardiola’s men completed a wonderful weekend for the Club with a comprehensive win in the Manchester derby to restore our six-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Man of the Match Kevin De Bruyne scored a brace in a close-fought first half in which Jadon Sancho was on target for the visitors, but City seized control of the contest after the break.

The hosts were in complete control to restrict United’s attacking threat, whilst at the other end, Riyad Mahrez netted twice to ensure the scoreline reflected City’s superiority.

Our Under-16s provided further reason to celebrate, as they beat United 2-1 to complete a hat-trick of derby successes for the Club.

Congratulations to all our teams in making the Big City Weekender a big success!
