Footballing legends and celebrities came together for a charity football match at the Academy Stadium to commemorate victims of the Manchester Arena attack.

City legends such as Paul Dickov and Shaun Goater joined fellow ex-Premier League stars in Wes Brown, Robbie Savage and David Dunn in dusting off their boots in support of the cause, with the side overseen by former England boss Sam Allardyce.

They locked horns with a celebrity XI coached by former City heroes Peter Reid and Joe Royle and consisting of comedian Jason Manford and Blossoms front man Tom Ogden, who also happen to be massive City fans!

The Legends XI came out on top on the day, but the final result pales in insignificance compared to the occasion itself, which saw a stoppage in play and round of applause on 22 minutes to commemorate the 22 victims from the attack.

All money raised from the match is to be donated to a number of charities – some of which were set up by the families who lost loved ones in the arena attack back in 2017.
