The quintet were recognised for their own special contributions towards the Elite Development Squad (EDS) and Under-18s during what has proved a hugely successful 2021/22 season and received their prizes in a ceremony staged at the CFA.
Bobb was named EDS Player of the Year, to round off a superb campaign for the 18-year-old who emerged as one of the key pillars in our successful defence of the PL2 title.
The Norwegian-born attacking wide man was promoted to the Under-23s squad last summer and under the guidance of lead coach Brian Barry-Murphy he enjoyed a stellar campaign.
All told, Bobb made 26 appearances in our PL2 season, contributing seven goals and 10 assists as our EDS side made it back-to-back title wins.
Bobb, who signed a new long-term contract earlier this year, also made six appearances in our UEFA Youth League campaign adding another goal and two assists as well as playing twice in our EFL Trophy campaign.
And his fine season was further recognised when he was named on the bench for City’s FA Cup third round victory at Swindon Town in January.
McAtee was the other award winner from Barry-Murphy’s side, picking up the Players’ Player of the Year prize.
The creative midfielder went from strength to strength across the 2021/22 season, scoring a remarkable 18 goals from just 23 appearances to finish as top scorer in PL2.
McAtee also made his first team City breakthrough in the season, being afforded his senior debut as a substitute in our 6-1 Carabao Cup third round win over Wycombe last September.
McAtee – who signed a new contract extension in January – went on to make his Premier League bow from the bench against Everton last November, as well as being handed his Champions League debut in March’s last 16 second leg draw with Sporting Lisbon.
In the Under-18s, it was Lewis who scooped the Player of the Year award.
Captain of Ben Wilkinson’s exciting young side, the 17-year-old emerged as a key pillar in the City side that retained the Under-18 Premier League North crown in impressive fashion.
In total, Lewis made 17 appearances in the league, scoring three goals and also creating two assists, with his and his colleagues’ focus now trained on next week’s Under-18 national final away to Southampton.
He also made six appearances for our EDS side, netting in our 7-0 win over Everton in the final game of the season as well as featuring six times in our UEFA Youth League campaign.
The Under-18 Players’ Player of the Year award went to Mebude who was in inspired form throughout the 2021/22 campaign.
The right winger scored 11 times in our Under-18 North title success, as well as contributing a staggering 18 assists.
Like Lewis, Mebude was also afforded a number of opportunities with our EDS side, making four appearances and scoring once.
Also recognised was goalkeeper Josh McNamara who was named as scholar of the year.
The 18-year-old was selected by Club staff for his performance and application both on and off the pitch
McNamara made 12 appearances in our Under-18 Premier League North campaign, keeping seven clean sheets.
A number of City Tough award winners were also recognised with Cass Machin (U12s); Dante Headley (U13s); Oliver Tevenan (U14s) and Rhys Thomas (U15s) all receiving prizes.
