After a year away, the Blues will be hoping to bring the trophy back to the north-west this weekend and end the season on a winning note.
“We’ve come off a win earlier in the week against West Brom, so we’re feeling good,” said Milner.
“We probably didn’t play our best football but we got the three points, so that was pleasing and everyone’s ready and raring to go into the cup final.”
City’s Premier League game against Wigan last month was seen by many as a dress rehearsal for the London showdown.
Looking back on a very tight affair against the Latics, the midfielder says it highlights how well City will have to play if the Blues are to triumph at Wembley.
“We know what a strong team Wigan are, their league position is surprising because they play some very good football and they have got some very good players,” he said.
“We’ve played them a number of times this year and we know how tough it is to get points off them, but hopefully we can draw on our previous experiences.”

Last time the Blues reached the final of the competition, Milner had to be content with watching the action from the bench.
Although he would be delighted to be selected in the starting eleven, he accepts not everyone can be involved.
“We all want to play in this kind of game, but at the end of the day it’s about the team and the squad,” he asserted.
“Of course you want to contribute, but at the end of the day it’s about the club and winning another trophy for Manchester City.
