Having lifted two pieces of silverware over the past two seasons, the skipper says occasions like these should be savoured.
“We shouldn’t take these types of games for granted because they don’t always come around. It’s great that we are getting the opportunity to go to Wembley again,” he said.
“If you win trophies it is something that is remembered forever and it should be considered a great achievement.

“Yes we can always do better, but we have got next season to do that.”
The final between City and Wigan will be the 132nd in the history of the celebrated competition and Vincent admits the atmosphere at Wembley is among the best he’s known.
“Wembley is one of the best stadiums to play at. It stands out for me probably along with the Bernabeu and the Nou Camp,” he smiled.
“The historical weight is incredible. You know about Wembley and its history, but when you go there you do feel it as well.

“Even though it’s a new Wembley, you know it’s a different stadium with a different atmosphere.”
The image of Carlos Tevez lifting the FA Cup trophy aloft in 2011 is one that is imprinted in the mind of every City fan.
This time, Vincent Kompany would be handed that honour – but the captain isn’t thinking that far ahead just yet!
“A lot can happen in 90 minutes, so we will get through that before we start thinking about lifting the trophy,” he said.
“We hope it is a great game and a great day out for all of our fans.”
