Sergio Aguero has Harry Kane in his sights…

Overlooked by his peers for PFA recognition, it’ll be up to Fraser Forster, Petr Cech and Lukasz Fabianski to stop Kun from landing this individual award for the second year in a row.

Thanks to an injury-free second half of the season, City’s Argentine ace has ascended the Premier League’s top scorers list at frightening speed, overhauling Romelu Lukaku, Jamie Vardy and Odion Ighalo.

Now only Spurs striker Kane is ahead of him by a single goal with 24 goals to Sergio’s 23.

The man with 101 Premier League goals to his name is undoubtedly the league’s in-form striker, having scored 22 in his last 21 and seven in his last five outings.

His penalty against Stoke last Saturday made it 16 in 2016, more than any other player in the division and his goal-per-minute ratio is also a league-high one every 95 minutes.

Sergio won the Golden Boot award for the first time last season, ending the season with a career-high 26 Premier League goals, five clear of Kane.

That was only the second time a City player had won the award since the inception of the Premier League in 1992/92, as Kun followed in compatriot Carlos Tevez’s footsteps.

Unsurprisingly, this stunning form saw Kun clinch the Etihad Player of the Season award at City Live in August.

Aguero is three short of his best-ever Premier League tally achieved last season and so it will be up to Southampton, Arsenal and Swansea to stop him from breaking new ground.

For Spurs, Kane will have Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle in his sights as Mauricio Pochettino’s men attempt to overhaul Leicester at the table summit.

Kun has scored in each of his last five league appearances but has never scored in six consecutive matches.

If he can best this individual milestone on Sunday, he’ll be level with Kane and on course for successive Premier League Golden Boot awards.
