Pep Guardiola has made nine changes to the team which beat Bournemouth 4-0 on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany returns to the City starting XI for the first time in four months for tonight’s EFL Cup third round clash against Swansea City.

The skipper last featured in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid on 4 May 2016 and makes his comeback tonight at the Liberty Stadium.

Elsewhere, Leroy Sane makes his first start for the Blues, while Angelino and Aleix Garcia both make their second starts for the Club in midfield.

In between the sticks, Willy Caballero comes in for Claudio Bravo in goal, John Stones returns to the back four along with Pablo Zabaleta, Jesus Navas slots in for the suspended Nolito and Fernando takes Fernandinho’s place in the middle.

Gael Clichy and Kelechi Iheanacho are the two players to retain their places from the weekend, while there’s a young bench, featuring Angus Gunn, Tosin Adarabioyo, Pablo Maffeo and Brahim Diaz, as well as Bacary Sagna, Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne.

Sergio Aguero serves the final game of his three-match ban.

As for the hosts, they made eight games to their XI which started the narrow defeat to Southampton at the weekend, handing a first start to big money acquisition Borja up front.
