City produced two stellar displays in their final two US Tour matches, beating Real Madrid 4-1 in LA before a stunning 3-0 victory over Tottenham in Nashville.
Both games saw City impress with the quality of their attacking football and Guardiola wants more of the same against Slaven Bilic’s men in Reykjavik, the Club’s last warm-up match before their season opener at Brighton next weekend.
“It’s the last game from our pre-season before we start,” he said in a press conference at the Laugardalsvöllur Stadium on Thursday.
“Hopefully we can stay in our level, especially from the last two games, with no injuries.
“To keep going and move forward is what we want to do.
“Always a game is the best way to improve, more than training sessions and meetings and so on.
“And, of course, we play against another team from the Premier League who have a lot of talented players, that’s why it’s interesting game for us.”
Guardiola has added five new faces to his squad this summer, bringing in Bernardo Silva, Ederson, Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy.
The Catalan also included a number of young players for the tour of the US, with Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz particularly impressive.
Walker dazzled in the game against Spurs and Guardiola says he is pleased with how the England man has settled and how his squad is shaping up.
“Kyle knows the Premier League and knows some of the guys quite well — John [Stones] and Raheem [Sterling],” he said.
“Always I thought the top players adapt quicker.
“Sometimes when you come from another country you can need a little more time but since he was here he knew absolutely everything.
“He has desire — not just Kyle, everyone — Ederson was a great impact on the team as a goalkeeper and the other guys.
“The young players too —Brahim, Foden, Zinchenko, all of them they played well.”
