City have already made five signings this summer – Bernardo Silva, Ederson, Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy - but with six days of the transfer window remaining, the boss believes there could be further movement, both in and out of the Club.
He says clubs across Europe will wait until as close to Thursday’s deadline as possible before tying up their final business, making for a frantic end to the transfer period.
“I think the market is going to move until the last moment,” he said.
“Guys who are here may leave, some may be coming, because all the guys in the clubs will wait until the last second to make the transfers cheaper.”
Asked specifically about Alexis Sanchez, the Arsenal forward repeatedly linked with a move to City this summer, Guardiola said: “He is an Arsenal player, like [Kylian] Mbappe is Monaco and Jonny Evans is West Brom.
“You have to ask to Alexis. The other clubs have to talk about that. Normally I don’t talk about players with other clubs.”
City face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday hoping to build on their tally of four points from their first two matches of the new season.
The Blues won their opening-day trip to Brighton, before Monday’s frustrating home draw with Everton.
Guardiola says he expects a tough test, despite Bournemouth losing their opening two games.
“The Premier League is so complicated, so special,” Guardiola said.
“Sometimes in Champions League the teams they play and they let you play.
“Bournemouth are a team who want to play. The manager is so good in those terms.
“They did a fantastic season last season. Okay, They start with two defeats but sometimes that can happen, it’s just the beginning. I know At 12.30 it will be complicated.”
Guardiola also heaped praise on Napoli, who were drawn in Group F of the Champions League alongside City, Shakhtar Donetsk and Feyenoord.
Guardiola believes they play the finest football in Serie A and were the hardest possible opponents City could have been paired with from Pot 3.
“The third pot is Napoli, the best team the third pot, always it will be complicated,” he said.
“In Champions League you expect first pot and second pot to be strong.
“Today all the teams in Champions League are strong.
“We will face the team playing the best football in Italy – I’m not talking about winning, the best football. I like to watch the teams who want to play.
“In Italy where culturally it’s defensive in the box, they play 40 metres in front, like Arrigo Sacchi did. With the ball they are fantastic.
“I think they are one of the three best teams playing football in Europe right now.
“The others [Shakhtar and Feyenoord], we will see. Champions League is complicated, every team can beat you home and away.
“Hopefully we can arrive in a good shape.”
