Leroy Sane’s season started slowly but has accelerated quickly over the past month.

Sane was named in the starting eleven just once in the Blues’ first six games, though a sparkling cameo against Liverpool reminded everyone what an explosive talent he is.

His two stunning strikes against Jurgen Klopp’s side really got his campaign up and running and it’s fair to say the German winger hasn’t looked back since.

Just three months into the current season. Sane is just one goal and one assist away from equalling his first term with City – evidence, if needed, of how well he has settled into Premier League life.

His eight-goal tally this season is just one shy of the nine he bagged in 2016/17 and he has assisted five others – again, just one short of the last campaign.

Encouragingly, Sane scored in each Premier League fixture against the Blues’ next domestic opponents Arsenal last season (see video above).

The 21-year-old has managed 17 goals from just 38 starts since joining City and it won’t be lost on Pep Guardiola that, along with Raheem Sterling, his dynamic wingers have pitched in with 17 goals from just 16 starts between them this season.

Could Leroy and Raheem be the latest SAS partnership...?
