Benjamin Mendy is absent with injury but Ilkay Gundogan makes a welcome return on the bench.
City starting XI:
Ederson. Walker, Stones, Aguero, De Bruyne, Delph, Sane, Silva, Fernandinho, Otamendi, G Jesus
Subs: Bravo, Danilo, Sterling, Gundogan, Mangala, Bernardo, Yaya Toure
Possible formation
Fabian Delph looks set to start at left-back this evening with Gabriel Jesus resuming his striker partnership with Sergio Aguero.
Therefore, expect City to go 4-4-2 - though this could change!
Group insurance?
A victory against Shakhtar Donetsk would go a long way to edging City towards group qualification.
Shakhtar won their opening group game 2-1 against Napoli and a win for the Blues would mean a three-point lead irrespective of Napoli’s game against Feyenoord.
Even with four games remaining, the Blues will be confident of picking up another couple of victories, two of which will be at the Etihad against Napoli and Feyenoord.
Anything less will open the group up and make qualifying that much harder.
Shakhtar XI and current form
Shakhtar arrive as leaders of the Ukrainian Premier League, having beaten Zirka 4-2 away at the weekend.
That leaves them two points clear of traditional rivals for the title Dynamo Kyiv who are two points behind and have a game in hand.
Shakhtar have won five of their six games on the road this season, only dropping points at bottom side Odessa nine days ago.
The visitors line up will appear here shortly.
Sergio record (again)?
Sergio Aguero will once again attempt to equal or better Eric Brook’s 78-year record this evening.
If Kun bags one tonight, he will pull level with Brook on 177, while a brace will confirm Kun as the greatest goal-scorer ever to wear sky blue.
