Over the past seven days we may not have picked up the results we’d hoped for, but there’s still plenty of things to love!

In a week with a mixed bag of results we have chosen some moments which caught our eye…

Mendy shares social media wisdom

Firstly, we all know that Benjamin Mendy is a dab hand on social media, so when the Bleacher Report asked our resident Snapchat and Instagram king to take part in a game involving Twitter and his team mates we knew we would be on board!

The Frenchman was tasked with improving his fellow Blues’ social media captions and bringing their Twitter language up to his level…

You’ve definitely got to give this a watch!

Cheesy win

On Sunday Melbourne City Women FC made history when the club claimed its record-breaking third consecutive Westfield W-League Championship following a 2-0 victory against Sydney FC!

Everyone here at Manchester City would like to send our congratulations to the Australian club for an incredible achievement.

If the win wasn’t enough, there was one tweet that caught our eye during the match commentary… a yellow card referred to as – wait for it – a slice of cheese!

That terminology should definitely be considered for our next matchday...

Carnival colours

We had to include this picture of Bernardo Silva and Ederson in Things We Love this week.

The City duo sported very fetching umbrella hats, sunglasses and feather boas and Bernardo showed he was a true Blue…

What a way to celebrate the carnival!

Jill Scott recently celebrated a milestone – making 100 City appearances.

An integral part of  side, the England star has helped the Blues to four trophy successes - two Continental Tyres Cups, a Super League title and an FA Cup - and a Champions League semi-final spot at the first attempt.

Admired for her dedication, energy, hard work and skill, Scott has bagged 20 goals, including City’s first European goal and a memorable effort in the 2017 FA Cup final at Wembley.

Our midfielder recently took part in the National Football Museum’s #HiddenHistory project and spoke about what motivated her to become a footballer, reflected on her playing career and shared her thoughts on the future of the game.

Shoot-out!

Finally, we were thrilled when our U19s made it through to the quarter-finals of the Uefa Youth League on Tuesday after securing a win on penalties against visiting side Inter Milan.

Dan Grimshaw was in inspired form at the Academy Stadium to save four spot kicks and in doing so atoned for an error which had gifted the visitors their opener, as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.

We can’t stop watching the highlights and you can see them below…

Bring on the quarter-final! Next, we take on Liverpool U19s at the Academy Stadium as we aim to book a place in the semi-finals which are set to be held in Nyon, Switzerland.
