Pep Guardiola’s side earned yet more plaudits after our latest Premier League triumph – Sunday’s 3-0 success away at Huddersfield Town.
The victory not only helped City reduce the gap at the top of the table with leaders Liverpool to four points but also saw the Blues become the first side in all of Europe’s five major leagues to register 100 goals for the season.
It’s yet another astonishing landmark from a squad that has rewritten countless records over the past 18 months.

What’s more, our achievement this term has arguably garnered even added lustre thanks to the Blues’ harnessing of their very own Squad Goals
In what promises to be a dramatic and nerve-jangling final third of the season, the Blues’ capacity to generate goals from a variety of different personnel could potentially be a crucial factor as we seek to become the first English side to defend the Premier League title since 2009.
When Danilo brought up City’s century by firing us into a first-half lead at the John Smith’s Stadium with a deflected shot, it meant the Brazilian defender had become the 13th different member of Guardiola’s squad to find the target in the league this season.
Even more remarkably, the full-back’s strike saw him become the 17th squad player to register a goal for the Blues across all competitions, a remarkable tally that also includes Brahim Diaz who claimed two goals but has since moved on to Real Madrid.
Even goalkeeper Ederson has got in on the Blues’ attacking act.
The Brazilian produced a remarkable 86-yard assist for Sergio Aguero in our 6-1 home win over Huddersfield last August, a feat that marked the 25-year-old out as the first and, so far, only keeper to provide an official Premier League assist this season.
Of the Blues’ established regular first-team squad, only Benjamin Mendy and Vincent Kompany and Fabian Delph have yet to register a goal this season and, fitness permitting, all three could well weigh in with their own golden moment between now and the end of the campaign.
That variety of options and capacity of any player to find the target when needed has been one of the eye-catching stand-outs of City’s campaign to date.

And, not surprisingly, it’s a feature of our play that that has drawn special satisfaction from the Blues boss.
“It’s good. We try to score as many goals as possible. A lot of players score goals - wingers, midfielders – so it’s nice,” Pep reflected after the Huddersfield.
A quick glance illustrates just how evenly the goals have been shared out amongst the Blues squad.
Not surprisingly, strikers Aguero and Gabriel Jesus lead the way with 14 apiece.
Raheem Sterling is close behind champing at the bit on 12 to date with Leroy Sane having found the target on 11 occasions.
Both David Silva and Riyad Mahrez have also made major contributions, claiming nine apiece while Bernardo Silva is next in the scoring charts, having chipped in with seven.
To date Ilkay Gundogan has found the net on four occasions while Aymeric Laporte, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden all have three goals to their name while right-back Kyle Walker has also m managed to get in on the scoring act with two goals.
In addition, Fernandinho, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Nicolas Otamendi and now Danilo have also opened their individual accounts.
Given that the Blues are still striving for glory on four fronts, and so far boast a 100 per cent record in 2019, there should hopefully be plenty more goals to be shared out between now and the end of the season!
