Pep Guardiola has been left in no doubt his squad are hungry for more success after our Asia Tour ended in victory over Yokohama F. Marinos.

City won all four major domestic trophies last season, an unprecedented achievement for an English top-flight side.

And Guardiola says any fears his side may ease up are unfounded, instead backing his players to show the same dedication and application they did during our Fourmidables campaign.

“Definitely [hungry for more],” he said. “I know them better so now, I don’t have doubts about what they can do.

“Not about winning or not but look at today - lack of condition against a good team the way we played tactically and physically.

“We made mistakes, but that’s good, we are going to solve it. I dont have doubts this team will be ready.”

City ran out 3-1 winners against an excellent Yokohama side, whose commitment to playing open, attractive football was impressive.

It was a fine end to a successful tour that saw us play four matches in humid conditions.

Kevin De Bruyne was the stand-out performer, scoring the opener with a powerful finish and then producing a virtuoso display of creativity and craft.

And Guardiola was left in no doubt about his quality.

“Kevin make another great game,” he said. “It’s important because he has a special quality, the vision to make a last pass.”

And the manager was also full of praise for fellow City Football Group side Yokohama, thanking them for providing us with ideal preparation for the new season.

“It was perfect for us to play this kind of game,” he said. “They take a lot of risks.

“We play high and they are so quick, so we can be in trouble.”
