Fresh from his exploits with City in our record-breaking 2018/19 campaign where he scored 21 Premier League goals – the fifth successive season Kun has topped 20 or more in the league – Aguero is now leading the forward-line for Argentina at the Copa America in Brazil.
Aguero was on target in Argentina’s 2-0 group stage win over Qatar last Sunday and is set to lead the line for his country again this evening when La Albiceleste meet Venezuela in a quarter-final clash in Rio’s iconic Maracana stadium (kick-off 8pm BST).
For his part, Goater – who wrote himself into City folklore during a memorable five-year spell at the Club between 1998 and 2003 – believes that Kun has lifted his game to yet another level.
And he admits he would have relished the opportunity to have lined up alongside the master marksman.
“Oh yes. I would not have minded (playing with Aguero). Sergio makes things look easy!” Goater declared.

“Sergio is a goal scorer. When you see him go deep, he gets it, a couple touches, he’s in the final third and that’s when he becomes deadly.
“He’s added another bow to his armour. Sergio can score that beautiful goal outside the box; I’d get a nosebleed if I did that! My goals were inside the box.
“For someone who’s not that tall and knows how we play, he holds the ball up well, he’s intelligent, he’s gifted technically, and got a great eye for goal.
“I run out of adjectives to describe him, but it would have been absolutely brilliant to play alongside him.”
The Argentine was, of course, responsible for arguably the most iconic moment in the Club’s history with his dramatic match-winning goal on 93 minutes 20 seconds against Queen’s Park Rangers in 2012 which secured City’s first Premier League title.
Goater believes that was the moment that truly cemented the Club as a force to be reckoned with.
And after a remarkable 2018/19 season which saw City create English history by claiming all four English trophies, Goater is adamant that under the inspired leadership of manager Pep Guardiola, there is even more to come from City.
“Aguero’s moment was so special… I think that was the change of the guard,” the Bermudan added.

“That period has been total dominance by City, and I think there’s still more to come with Pep Guardiola and his never-say-die, his winning mentality to win.
“Pep is a serial winner and he has won so many finals.
“He’s unbelievable so, as I say, we know that there’s more to come.
“The 2018/19 season has been brilliant, and it just makes us all look forward to next season.”
