Pep Guardiola‘s side were the dominant team, but a combination of good goalkeeping and a profligacy in the penalty area meant we were left lamenting several missed opportunities when the hosts struck through Steven Bergwijn and Heung-Min Son.
Earlier, Hugo Lloris produced a fine save to deflect Sergio Aguero‘s strike onto the post and proved to be the hero again when he palmed away Ilkay Gundogan‘s penalty, before Oleksandr Zinchenko was dismissed for a second bookable offence.

Spurs took full advantage of their extra man to win the game, but Fernandinho, who captained the team, felt City created more than enough chances to have claimed all three points in North London.
“The performance was good,” he said.
“We played the same way we’ve played this season by creating chances but at the end the result was not the one we wanted.
“Now we need to stick together as a squad. We created chances especially in the first half where we hit the post and in the second half we hit the bar. We also missed a penalty so it was a strange game.
“We had a chance to score at least three goals but we have to accept it. We have to get back to training and improve.”
The Brazilian, who recently signed a contract extension, made his 300th appearance for the Club during the defeat and has tasted a huge amount of success during his time in England, winning three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four Carabao Cup winners medals.
He expressed his delight at the landmark and was keen to acknowledge the support of the staff and his team-mates during his six-and-a-half years in Manchester.
“It’s a huge achievement and I’m so happy,” he said.
“I’m really proud of my team to help me out. I am thankful to everyone at the club to help me achieve this and I am so grateful.”
