In the course of our superb 6-1 Premier League win at Aston Villa on Sunday, Aguero became both the Premier League’s leading all-time overseas scorer and leading scorer of hat-tricks.
Aguero’s latest exploits saw him eclipse two more league legends as our all-time leading goalscorer posted yet another remarkable chapter in his City career.
His latest league treble took Kun to 12 – one clear of former record holder Alan Shearer – while Aguero now has 177 Premier League goals, two clear of former overseas record holder Thierry Henry.

And not surprisingly, a plethora of former colleagues and fellow professionals have paid their own special tributes to our master marksman.
Leading the way was former City favourite Micah Richards, who revealed to the BBC, that how he hadn’t realised quote how good Aguero was until he played alongside him.
“I did not realise just how good Sergio really was until he played his first game for us. He came alive in matches, and everything about him was different,” Richards recalled.
“I actually set up his first goal for City, on his debut against Swansea, with a cross that he turned in at the far post - and he has obviously scored quite a few more like that since!
“What is so special about Sergio? Where do you start? Everything about him is world class.
“His movement when City are attacking is just incredible. His game is not just about running off defenders, because he can come deeper to get the ball too. Either way, he manages to find space when there should not be any there.
“Then there is his finishing. If the ball drops to him in front of goal, then I would back him to score every single time.
“Some strikers see their goals dry up as they get older, but not Sergio. He is 31 now but he has sustained his minutes-per-goal ratio for several seasons.
“His achievements are phenomenal, and they just keep on coming.”
Meanwhile, Daily Mail columnist and former Blackburn and England striker Chris Sutton, hailed Aguero as a worthy successor to Alan Shearer in the hat-tricks stakes and said that watching Kun play was a ‘privilege’.
“Sergio Aguero is relentless and the closest thing I have seen to my old Blackburn team-mate Alan Shearer,” wrote Sutton.
“He never seems satisfied with just the one goal. He wants to go again. And again. And again.
“We saw that with his hat-trick at Villa Park on Sunday, as he took home the 12th ball of his Premier League career.

“Of course, it helps that Aguero has Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva behind him, creating chance after chance. But he is the one who then puts them away. Aguero is already a Premier League great.
“Thierry Henry scored 175 goals and offered a different skillset. He would drift over to the left for Arsenal and muck in with the link-up play.
“But Aguero is City’s goal machine, an expert with a degree in finishing.
“We’ve been privileged to be able to watch the Argentine play in this country since 2011, and he’s still only 31. There are plenty more goals left in him yet.”
Staying with the Mail, legend was the fitting adjective used to sum up Aguero’s huge contribution to both City and the English game by his former captain Vincent Kompany
“What a legend Sergio is,” declared Kompany, speaking at a special Football Writers’ Association tribute dinner on Sunday evening.
“You take away the fact he has scored that many goals, I’m grateful for one goal.
“But when he scored against QPR and everyone said ‘Agueroooo’, you take that goal in isolation and he is always going to be a legend to me.
“He has been part of a very important core of players and no matter what happens, he will always be remembered as one guy who helped us get to the next level, such a level.”
Meanwhile, outspoken Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness said that such were Sergio’s special striking powers, he would grace any team in the world.
“I don’t think there is any team in the world he would not get in,” said the former Liverpool and Scotland midfield enforcer via the Manchester Evening News.
Analysing his hat-trick against Aston Villa, Souness added: “He rides a couple of challenges (his second goal) and goes through them, he’s so powerful. He’s only focused on the ball, he knows where he is and he guides it. What’s he got, he’s always been a powerful player. When he gets into this situation (his third goal) he steadies himself, little backlift, smash.
“He’s got the power but he’s also got the timing. The goalkeeper gets his arms up but the ball is already past him.

“Aguero does things that very few people can and he does it in the most difficult area.
“People look to leave a little bit on him but he’s a powerful little man, he’s brave and he has qualities few people have. He’s brave, he’s strong, he’s got great technique.”
Fittingly, the final word on Aguero’s remarkable latest landmarks went to Alan Shearer, the man whose Premier League hat-trick he usurped at Villa Park.
The Newcastle and England legend reacted to the news on Twitter on Sunday evening by paying handsome tribute to Kun’s achievement
“Congrats @aguerosergiokun. A special day for a special player,” Shearer posted.
