City 6-1 Southampton: Match gallery

Manchester City maintained top spot in the Premier League in emphatic style at the Etihad with a 6-1 victory over Southampton.

The Blues were in sublime form against the Saints and never looked back once we took the lead through Wesley Hoedt’s fifth minute own goal.

Further first-half strikes arrived courtesy of Sergio Aguero – his 150th Premier League goal for the Club – David Silva and Raheem Sterling.

And England winger Sterling rounded off a man of the match display by scoring his second and City’s fifth goal midway through the second half before Leroy Sane served up the sixth in injury time.

And though Danny Ings claimed a consolation penalty for the visitors to deny City a seventh straight league clean sheet, Pep Guardiola’s side were a class apart.
