Training: Ederson and Mahrez return

Pep Guardiola was boosted by the return of two more players as he prepared his Manchester City squad for Sunday’s Community Shield meeting with Liverpool.

Ederson and Riyad Mahrez were back at the City Football Academy on Friday, in time for our trip to Wembley, following the returns of Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus and Nicolas Otamendi earlier in the week.

The quintet rejoined the squad a little later than their team-mates due to their respective participation in the African Cup of Nations and the Copa America, while Fernandinho is set to return next week.

City trained in sunny conditions ahead of our second-consecutive Community Shield contest on Sunday, when the reigning champions will go in search of a repeat of last season’s victory over Chelsea.
