Manchester City lifted the Carabao Cup in the most dramatic fashion as we beat Chelsea 4-3 in a thrilling penalty shoot-out at Wembley.

The two sides had cancelled each other out in what was a high intensity but cagey period of  normal and extra time with chances at a premium as the game finished goalless.

Sergio Aguero did have the ball in the net in the second half but the effort was adjudged offside – by the narrowest of margins – after consultations with VAR.

And Kun also twice nearly made the breakthrough in extra time which also featured an extraordinary stand-off with Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga refusing to be substituted after Maurizio Sarri indicated he wanted to bring on former Blue Willy Caballero.
