The decision follows the success of November’s friendly between England Women and Germany, which attracted a record crowd of more than 45,000 supporters.
Kicking-off at 3pm, the final will take place on 1 August 2015 and the news has been well received throughout the country.
MCWFC star Isobel Christiansen was delighted, telling mcfc.co.uk: “It’s a huge step for the women’s game and a massive incentive for all the teams that are still in the competition to push that little bit harder to try to get to the final.
“It’s definitely been a topic of conversation at the club this morning! It’s great news.”
The 23-year-old, who scored in last year’s Continental Cup final victory over Arsenal, asserts she had thought netting the winner in a game of such magnitude could not be beaten - until now.
“There’s certainly no better feeling than playing in a cup final - and scoring in one is incredible - but I think that could be bettered at Wembley if we were to get there this season,” she stated.
“Everyone is really excited at the prospect of it.”
City’s FA Women’s Cup adventure begins with a home tie against Doncaster Belles at the Academy Stadium on 22 March. Having suffered one of their lowest points of the 2014 campaign with a defeat at the Keepmoat Stadium last May, Christiansen insists her side have a point to prove against the South Yorkshire outfit this time around.
“It will be a very difficult game,” she predicted. “Doncaster have got a profound history in the women’s game and they’ll put up a very strong side.
“Plus, we have some bad memories from the Continental Cup game there last year so there’s that to add - but those experiences were used in a positive way and we ended up winning that trophy so it just goes to show what you can learn in football and how far you can go.
“Obviously, there are 16 teams still in this competition that will all want to be at Wembley and we’ve got aspirations to get there just as much as everyone else. It’s going to be tough but we have all the incentive we need.”
