Speaking to CityTV after the game, manager Nick Cushing thanked fans for their support.
He declared: “Our support this year has been exceptional. To get more than 3,000 fans in a women’s game is astonishing and it’s a credit to this football club and the fans.
“I don’t know if people are aware but we broke our own record. Previously, it was 2,100 when we played Birmingham.
“It doesn’t surprise me because this is a special football club with special supporters. We see it every fay in the Etihad Stadium to so have so many supporters in the Academy Stadium is an excellent achievement and I’m really proud.”
