City will play Chelsea in the semi-finals of the Continental Cup.

This afternoon’s draw, made at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground by former Blades and England star Tony Currie, saw Nick Cushing’s side drawn away to face the Londoners.

It’s a repeat of last season’s Continental Cup semi-final which City won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Nadia Nadim.

City also recorded a Continental Cup semi-final win against Chelsea in 2014 thanks to a Toni Duggan strike as we went on to lift the Cup to secure our first-ever trophy under Nick Cushing.

Ironically, next month’s trip to Chelsea will be immediately followed by a home clash against the Londoners in the FA Women’s Super League on Sunday, February 10.

The other semi-final will see Arsenal Ladies play host to Manchester United Women.

The Blues secured our place in the last four courtesy of a superb 7-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at the Academy Stadium on Thursday.

City had earlier topped Group One North in the competition with 14 points from five games.

The Blues won the Conti Cup in 2014 and 2016, with triumphs over Arsenal and Birmingham, and reached the final in 2018.

The semi-final ties will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 5 and 6, with confirmed dates and ticket information to be announced in due course.
