Last season’s Cup double winners returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 triumph over Birmingham in the Continental Cup, before bagging five in a superb display on Women’s Football Weekend against West Ham United.

The competition holders return to Conti Cup action on Thursday night with a trip to Everton, looking to clinch nine points from four games in the hope of securing progression to the knock-out stages – and Beckie believes her side are rediscovering their form.
“We’ve had two good results and I think we’re back on track, where we want to be,” she declared.
“Training has been really good and people are coming back from injury, which is great.
“This is a really big fixture for our Conti Cup future and we’re excited. We didn’t feel we performed very well last time we faced Everton so it’s another chance to right a wrong.
“As always, we’ll be going into the game with a win in mind and nothing else. We’ll be dissatisfied and disappointed with anything else.
“When we play our best, I think we are the best team in the league and in our Continental Cup group.
“We’re ready to put in a strong 90-minute performance.”
Although naturally disappointed with City’s October results, Beckie asserts the squad have learned valuable lessons from the experience and are determined not to experience the lows of defeat again.
“In a healthy way, it’s at the back of our minds,” she continued. “It reminds us when we’re not doing the things we need to that teams are good enough to take advantage of anything we leave behind.
“It’s good to have that reminder but in terms of emotionally letting it affect people, we’ve moved on and that’s good.
“With all losses, you learn from it and take it forward.”
Beckie played a key role in City’s Conti Cup success last season, netting the winning penalty in the shoot-out victory over Arsenal at Bramall Lane.
Having impressed with a string of fine individual performances, the Canadian forward hopes to continue to make a positive impact, as her side look to clinch a domestic treble – starting with the first major trophy the Club lifted back in 2014.
“Every competition is incredibly important to us,” she stated.
“We have the Conti Cup and FA Cup titles and we want to keep them. That’s a priority and there’s a bit of pressure to do that but it’s good pressure.
“The Cup Final last year was such an exciting game for me and the team. Winning trophies is what this Club is about and I was delighted to help play a part in that.
“For me, it’s about trying to be as consistent as I can for the team and trying to have the biggest impact I can to help us get the win. I’ve been able to do that and that’s really important.
“Hopefully, now I can continue to contribute so we can win more trophies.”
