Julian Alvarez has been shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September.

The Argentinian forward started all four matches during the month as we three of those games.

We began the month with a 5-1 victory over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium, with Alvarez opening the scoring before being brought down for a 70th minute penalty that was converted by Erling Haaland.

City then travelled to West Ham, securing a 3-1 victory with the 23-year-old providing an assist for Jeremy Doku’s equaliser and another for Bernando Silva with a wonderful scooped pass.

He started the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, but was withdrawn in the second half when we reduced to 10 men after Rodrigo’s red card.

Alvarez then finished the month with a brilliant free-kick against Wolves that has also been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month.

In total, seven players have been nominated for the September award, with the others being, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, Pedro Neto of Wolves, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Tottenham’s Son Heung-min, Newcastle Kieran Trippier and Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa.

The vote is open now and closes at 11:00 (UK) on Monday, 9 October with the winner being announced on Friday, 13 October.
