Bernardo Silva says City are full of confidence after securing passage into the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Thanks to a 4-1 aggregate quarter-final victory over Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola’s side have advanced into the last-four of the competition for the third successive year.

After an electric 3-0 first leg victory at the Etihad Stadium, with the Portuguese midfielder on the scoresheet either side of strikes from John Stones and Erling Haaland, we ensured progression with a 1-1 draw in Germany.

The result at the Allianz Arena extended our unbeaten run in all competitions to 15 matches.

And Bernardo explained how the team are relishing huge upcoming fixtures with Sheffield United (FA Cup) and Arsenal (Premier League) as a result.

“[We are] very confident and in a very good moment,” he said.

“The best moment of the season for the team. We struggled until the end of February and on the difficult run we had in the past.

“Winning 10, 15, 20 games in a row and now the team is very consistent in the way we’re playing. We have a chance in every competition and we’re going for that.

“We know how tough it is to get to this spart of the season when if you drop you’re performance for one game in any competition, we will try not to let that happen.

“The next games [is] another final against Sheffield United [then] Arsenal.

“They are going to be tough, but it’s going to be fun. When you’re a little kid you work to get to these moments and you enjoy it as a football player.

“We’ll work very hard to bring some titles back home.”

By advancing past Bayern Munich in the last-eight, City have set up a mouth watering tie with Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

It represents a repeat of last year’s semi-final tie – when we suffered late heartbreak with a 6-5 aggregate defeat – and is the third time we have faced Los Blancos in the final four.

And Bernardo is looking to go one better this time around.

He added: “We know how hard it is to play Real Madrid in this competition, we’re going to go for it, definitely.

“We always go for it, but we feel the team is very confident at the minute.”
