PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW
At his pre-match news conference, the boss said he is expecting a tough test.
“They are so aggressive in the high pressing,” Guardiola said.
“They have incredible build-up from the central defenders and goalkeeper.
“They play eight players inside and two incredible wide full-backs. When you close outside they have players inside. That’s why it’s so difficult to control them.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
City and RB Leipzig played out a 1-1 draw in our Round of 16 first leg clash at the Red Bull Arena.
Riyad Mahrez fired us ahead with a clinically taken finish in the 27th minute after City were on top in the first half.
But the Bundesliga side equalised midway through the second half when Croatian international Josko Gvardiol headed in from a corner.
LAST TIME OUT
Erling Haaland’s second-half penalty earned City a hard-fought 1-0 Premier League victory at Crystal Palace last time out.
It appeared we would be made to regret several spurned chances until Ilkay Gundogan was fouled by Michael Olise with less than 15 minutes remaining.
Haaland coolly slotted the resulting spot kick home for his 28th Premier League goal to make it five wins from our last six league games.
