The Norwegian has been used sparingly since picking up a foot injury against Borussia Dortmund in October.
He missed the games against Leicester City and Sevilla, and only appeared midway through the second-half of the 2-1 win over Fulham last weekend, scoring a dramatic late winner from the spot.
An unused substitute against Chelsea in midweek, Guardiola says he will wait and see how his top scorer feels before planning the team for Brentford.
Asked if Haaland would play against the Bees, the boss said: “We will see. After today’s training, we will see.”
Then, asked if Haaland was better, Pep added: “A little bit.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
We extended our lead at the top of the Premier League to 12 points as we overcame Brentford 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium last season in February.
Riyad Mahrez struck a first half penalty after Raheem Sterling had been brought down to send Pep Guardiola‘s side in ahead at the break.
And a fine 69th minute effort from Kevin De Bruyne was enough to seal the deal and secure what was a 19th league win of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
Erling Haaland came off the bench to slot home an added time penalty for 10-man City and secure a hard-earned but fully deserved three points.
The Blues had taken the lead through Julian Alvarez, but Joao Cancelo was shown a straight red card not long after for a last-man challenge in the box.
The visitors then levelled from the penalty spot and though Haaland looked to have headed home the winner on 76 minutes, VAR ruled the effort out for offside.
But deep into added time, the peerless Kevin De Bruyne won a last-gasp penalty that Haaland squeezed home to send the Etihad into raptures.
We have ten wins, two draws and one loss in the Premier League and currently sit second in the league table, two points behind leaders Arsenal.
Brentford have three wins, seven draws and four losses in 14 league matches, sitting 11th in the top-flight. The Bees only have one win in their last five league outings.
