PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW

Guardiola addressed the media on Friday afternoon ahead of our first Premier League home clash of the season. 

With some key names absent in our Super Cup win over Sevilla, Guardiola was asked for an injury update before Newcastle’s arrival. 

“John is out and Bernardo is out and Ruben I don’t know. Ruben maybe he will be fit,” said Guardiola when asked who will be unavailable.

“[Stones is a] muscular issue. Last training he did not feel comfortable. I don’t know how long he will be out.”

Goals from Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva gave City a deserved but hard-earned 2-0 win over Newcastle at the Etihad in March.

Foden opened the scoring on 17 minutes with a superb solo goal and Bernardo doubled the advantage midway through the second-half.
