Our 61st win in Champions League football saw us reach triple figures across Champions League, Europa League/UEFA Cup and Cup Winners’ Cup games.
Erling Haaland‘s 18th and 19th City goals in just his 12th competitive match got us off to a flying start before an own goal made it three in the first half.
Riyad Mahrez converted a penalty on the night of his 200th City appearance to make it 4-0 before Julian Alvarez’s fourth City goal completed the scoring.
At the other end, City were rarely troubled as Ederson racked up his 100th win at the Etihad Stadium and Ruben Dias marked his 100th City appearance with a clean sheet.
Here we’ll take a look at the best statistics to have come out of the match...
Grealish and Gomez
Jack Grealish and Sergio Gomez were constant menaces down the left side, with both popping up at crucial moments in the build-up to City goals.
Grealish won the UEFA Man of the Match award for a performance that saw him roam away from the touchline more often than we may be used to.
68 of his 74 passes came off, while he had five shots and could easily have added a goal or two to the team’s tally with better fortune.
His 93 touches was the most of any attacking player and as can be seen by his Heat Map below, there was opportunity for him to move more central.
Perhaps that was facilitated by the naturally left-footed Gomez playing behind him.
The Spanish full-back was up and down the wing all night, having a direct impact on two of the goals and providing a passage out of danger for his teammates at all times.
Haaland keeps going
Erling Haaland now has 28 goals in just 22 Champions League matches. That puts the Norwegian one ahead of former Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid man Luis Suarez.
He is currently the top scorer in this year’s competition with five, ahead of Leroy Sane with four.
Haaland has been directly involved in 41 goals in his last 23 appearances in home games at club level (35 goals, 6 assists).

Team stats
It was a truly dominant performance from the Blues, as we registered 75% posession and had 30 shots on goal. If not for the form of Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, the deficit would have been more than five.
We played a total of 794 completed passes on the night, compared to just 213 for our opponents. That total included 525 passes in the opposition half, showing just how deep Copenhagen were throughout the game.
European season so far
We are one of five teams to have won all three matches in the Champions League group stages so far. The other sides with 100% records are Napoli, Club Brugge, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Our 11 goals so far is the second most of any side, only behind Napoli on 13.
We currently average 65.7% of the ball, more than any other team in the competition and our passing accuracy of 91.3% is the second best.
Joao Cancelo’s four assists make him the chief creator in the Champions League so far this season, while Haaland is the top scorer with five goals.
