Ederson's clean sheet against Bournemouth on Saturday was his 110th in the Premier League for Manchester City.

That saw him surpass Joe Hart as the goalkeeper to have kept the most clean sheets in a City shirt during the Premier League era.

It has taken Ederson 242 matches in the competition to reach the figure, with Hart playing 266 times for City for his 109 shutouts.

The pair are far and away City’s most impressive Premier League goalkeepers judging by this metric.

Tony Coton kept 26 clean sheets in 94 matches and David James prevented opponents from scoring 20 times in 93 appearances with Nicky Weaver (15 in 57) and Shay Given (14 in 50) the next on the list.

Ederson is now ranked 15th all-time in terms of Premier League clean sheets, with Petr Cech the leader on 202.

Only seven goalkeepers have ever kept more clean sheets for a single club in the competition.

He was an ever present the following year, keeping 20 Premier League clean sheets as the Blues won a second consecutive title as part of a domestic quadruple.

Notably, he also registered his first Premier League assist when he fired a goal kick over the visiting defence into the path of Sergio Aguero.

He was again named the leading goalkeeper in the country in 2020/21 as City reclaimed the Premier League title, keeping 19 clean sheets on the way.

2021/22 saw him claim his third Golden Glove, tied with Alisson on 20 clean sheets, as City clocked up the fourth Premier League title in five seasons.

He followed that up with 11 in 2022/23 and is currently tied with Jordan Pickford and David Raya on eight in this campaign.
