PEP Preview

“Leicester is a top class team - they can beat us. The depth of their squad... I am impressed.

“We will be closer to winning the title if we win and then every game after that is a final. The team will feel that, and we are ready to try it.

“People say we are close. The champions are Liverpool. We are in the best position. But United and Leicester can win a lot of games.

“Everything in football can happen. We need more than four wins to be champions and tomorrow is the first one, we will try. After that game I will think of Borussia Dortmund.”

FORM GUIDE

City head into Saturday evening’s Premier League clash in record-breaking form, after a 2-0 win over Everton in our last outing saw Guardiola‘s side win a 17th straight away game, breaking a club record.

Two late goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne saw us defeat the Toffees in the quarter-final of the FA Cup for our 25th win in 26 games in all competitions.

The Foxes also go into this one on the back of an FA Cup victory, after Brendan Rodgers’ side defeated Manchester United 3-1 in their quarter-final tie.

The hosts’ form has been somewhat mixed in recent weeks, after recording two wins, two losses and a draw in their last six.

However, they have won their last three outings and have lost just one of their last eight league games.

last meeting

The last time the two teams faced off resulted in defeat for City, as Leicester ran out 5-2 winners at the Etihad Stadium last September.

Despite Guardiola‘s side taking the lead through Riyad Mahrez, a Jamie Vardy hat-trick - that included two penalties - and a goal from James Maddison gave the visitors a 4-1 lead with 10 minutes to go.

Nathan Ake pulled one back with his first goal in a City shirt, however Youri Tielemans restored the three goal advantage with Leicester’s third penalty of the game late on.
