Matchday kit
City will wear our 2025/26 PUMA Home kit for this clash.
Opposing manager - Eddie Howe
The Englishman took over at Bournemouth in 2009 after being forced to end his playing career early due to injury.
He went on to guide the Cherries to promotion from the fourth tier.
He then left for a brief spell at Burnley in 2011 before returning to the south coast in October 2012 and continuing where he left off, eventually leading them to the Premier League in 2015.
They stayed in the top-flight for five seasons before relegation saw the end of his second spell with the Cherries.
2021 saw his appointment at Newcastle and since then, he’s taken them into the Champions League and won the League Cup, their first major trophy since 1955.
DANGER MEN
Harvey Barnes has excelled during his time in the North East, after making the move from the Midlands in 2023. Not only did he score twice against us in our Premier League fixture earlier this season, but he’s enjoyed a spell of impressive form.
The winger netted twice in the Magpies Premier League win over Leeds before finding the opener against Bournemouth in the FA Cup third round tie.
Although he did miss a crucial opportunity in Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Paris-Saint Germain. With the result meaning both sides dropped out of the top eight and into the play-off round in the Champions League.
Barnes now has 14 direct goal involvements for the Magpies this season, with 12 scored and two assists across all competitions.
Skipper, Bruno Guimaraes appears to be a doubt following no involvement in their clash against Liverpool with Joelinton and Tino Livramento also missing out.
Pep Guardiola preview
“We have the chance to make a our fifth final in 10 years in the Carabao Cup.
“A good result I would prefer to start with 2-0.
“I know perfectly Eddie Howe and the times we played against Newcastle and the pride they have.
“It’s a Champions League team and we have to be prepared.
“See how the players recovered from a tough game at Spurs and play our game for our people and fans and try to reach Wembley in March.”

Last time out
City were held to a 2-2 draw with Spurs last time our at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo gave us a commanding lead at the break before a Dominic Solanke brace after the interval saw the spoils shared.
Previous meeting
We last faced Newcastle in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final where we came out on top with a 2-0 victory.
Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring on 52 minutes with Rayan Cherki adding a second deep into added time.
The advantage could’ve been larger had a second Semenyo goal not been ruled out by VAR.
