PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW
Pep Guardiola addressed the media on Monday afternoon ahead of welcoming RB Leipzig to the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday 28 November.
With a handful of players missing in City’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, the boss was asked to provide an update on his squad that will be available for City’s penultimate group stage game.
“I’m not much optimistic about some good news for some people to come back,” said the boss as he spoke to the media pre-game at the CFA.
“We’ll see this afternoon. I think it’ll be the same people that played against Liverpool.
“We have training now but we’ll see this afternoon. We’ll do the second day of recovery. We won’t think to do anything.”
But Guardiola did have a positive update on John Stones who is close to a return.
“He’s getting better,” added the manager.
“Not to play but maybe a few minutes, maybe for the next one. He’s really, really close to coming back. It’s incredibly good news for us.”
GROUP STANDINGS
We sit top of the group after winning all four of our matches, and have already secured qualification into the knockout rounds.
A victory here would guarantee top spot in Group G, ensuring we face a group runner up in the Round of 16 and play the second leg at home.

LAST TIME OUT
Erling Haaland scored his 50th Premier League goal in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Saturday, with Trent Alexandar-Arnold equalising late on.
In our last Champions League fixture, we beat Swiss outfit FC Young Boys 3-0 at the Etihad, through a Haaland brace and Phil Foden.
