Pep Guardiola has been voted the Premier League Manager of the Month for April.

The Catalan guided City to wins in all three league games throughout the month, scoring six goals and conceding just one.

It’s the second time in three months he has claimed the award and 13th occasion since moving to England in 2016.

Only Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger have ever received the accolade more times than our boss, despite not receiving the honour between December 2021 and February 2026.

From a Premier League perspective, April began with a 3-0 defeat of Chelsea thanks to goals from Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guéhi and Jeremy Doku.

We backed that up with a 2-1 home win against the leaders Arsenal, with Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland getting those goals.

And Haaland was again on the scoresheet a few days later when we beat Burnley 1-0 to move briefly top of the table.

All that came around two FA Cup ties that saw us reach the final for the fourth successive season.

Guardiola had to see off competition from West Ham’s Nuno Espirito Santo, Leeds’ Daniel Farke and Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler to win this award.

Meanwhile, Cherki and O’Reilly were nominated but unsuccessful for the Player of the Month vote.

Congratulations to Pep on this month’s award!
