Riyad Mahrez's hat-trick in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final victory over Sheffield United was Manchester City's first at Wembley.

The Algerian’s first-half penalty broke the deadlock in the last four clash.

He added two more after the break with a mazy run just after the hour mark and a sweeping finish five minutes later.

The three-goal haul saw him become the first Manchester City player to score a hat-trick at Wembley in the history of both iconic stadiums built on the same piece of land, the first of which was opened in 1923.

He also scored the first ever FA Cup semi-final hat-trick at Wembley, and first in the semi-final of the competition overall since Alex Dawson in 1958 (Man Utd against Fulham).

It also guided us to the final with an aggregate score of 17-0 across the five rounds we have competed in so far.

That impressive tally makes us the first team to reach the FA Cup final without conceding a goal en route since Everton in 1965-66.

Our run to the final began with a 4-0 dismantling of Chelsea in January before we overcame Premier League leaders Arsenal by a single goal at the end of that month.

Since then, we have defeated Championship clubs Bristol City, Burnley and Sheffield United with 3-0, 6-0 and 3-0 wins respectively.

Now we have booked our place in the 3 June showpiece final, where we will take on either Manchester United or Brighton in order to lift the famous old trophy.

Congratulations to Riyad and the entire team on these remarkable achievements!
